Mr. Donald Lee Turner, age 82, of Maryville, Illinois died December 10, 2023. He was born on September 30, 1941, in Ponca City Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Patrick (Alta) Turner. He began 1st grade at Lincoln School and completed elementary school at Jefferson School in Ponca City. He attended East Junior High School, graduating from Po-Hi in 1960. Mr. Turner graduated from Northern Oklahoma Junior College in 1962 and Oklahoma State University in 1964 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. After college, he joined the United States Air Force and served in Japan from 19641968, finishing his term of service at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois.

He married Miss Beverly Irene Gindler on December 21, 1968, in Troy, Illinois. He worked for many years at McDonell-Douglas Aerospace Manufacturing Corporation, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed church work, constructing wooden models, traveling, model railroads, fishing, and family events.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beverly Irene Turner of the home. He also is survived by one sister, Dr. Patricia Sargent of Tulsa, Oklahoma as well niece Mrs. Gail Sargent of Tulsa and nephew Dr. Stephan Sargent of Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Patrick (Alta) Turner, his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Ivy) Turner, and a nephew Mr. William Carl Patrick (Billy) Turner. Funeral services were held in Troy, Illinois on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
