Russia launches strikes across Ukraine as campaign intensifies

Russia launched one of its biggest missile and drone strikes on Ukraine this year, hitting targets in Kyiv and in western regions close to the Polish border as Kremlin forces ramped up attacks. At least four people were killed and more than 30 were injured in the capital after an 18-story residential building was set ablaze by a strike in the Holosiivskiy district in southern Kyiv, the Interior Ministry said.

One parent calls it a ‘huge win for our country’ DETROIT — Families affected by the Oxford High School shooting greeted Tuesday’s guilty verdict for the mother of the Oxford killer on involuntary manslaughter charges with responses ranging from pleased to surprised to relieved. Buck Myre, whose son, 16-year-old Tate, was gunned down in the November 2021 attack on the northern Oakland County high school, said he was surprised by the jury’s decision to find Jennifer Crumbley guilty on all four counts of involuntary manslaughter connected to the deaths of four students.

Changes coming for KCJLS

The Kay County Junior Livestock Show (KCJLS) is only weeks away, and 4-Hers and FFA member are working hard on their show projects to be ready to enter the spotlight in the show ring. While the shows themselves remain largely the same, there are a few changes for 2024, including a special premium sale auction for the exhibitors, which is hoped to bring more excitement to the annual event.

Barns are a staple of the rural landscape, storing everything from equipment, livestock and anything else needed on farms and ranches outside the community. One of those country barns lies on Coleman Road west of U.S. Highway 77 and around the corner from Ranch Drive. It isn’t really a barn at all, though, as a step inside the facility reveals a kaleidoscope of color, stacks of fabric and walls of quilts, a virtual playground for those who love crafting and sewing.
