A new series of community learning seminars began last month with a focus on sharing helpful information with the community. The first two topics were over the subjects of understanding poverty and on productivity in later life.

Now, two new seminars are coming soon with one addressing memory and brain health, and the other on loneliness and health.

These sessions will be weekly and run for two to four weeks with each session lasting an hour. The seminars are intended for small groups of around six to eight individuals.

These seminars are held at the First Christian Church located at 210 N. 5th Street in Ponca City. Despite its locale, these seminars do not have a religious focus and are instead focused on being informative.

The session over memory and brain health will be held on Monday, April 17 at 4 pm and will talk about key ways to keep the brain in good shape, how memory is key to brain enhancement, and other ways of understanding and making the most of memories.

The session over loneliness and health will explain the importance of connection with others, as loneliness is a public health concern that effects those from all walks of life. The session will also explain how to interact with others in a fun and meaningful way.

This session will begin on Tuesday, April 18 at 4 pm.
