Hospice 18th Annual Memorial Bowling Tournament winners announced
Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, Inc. held its 18th Annual Memorial Bowling Tournament at Lucas Lanes in Blackwell Oklahoma on Saturday, April 1. The tournament was held in three different time slots at 10 am, 2 pm and 6 pm with 12 lanes each. All three time slots and all lanes will filled during the tournament.
This year’s tournament is in memory of Johnnie Wright. Wright was born March 9, 1930 in Marland Ok. He attended Rein School in the Bressie community and then moved to Red Rock where he graduated. He married Molly Blew on May 14, 1950. Johnnie worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Ponca City and later transferred to Norman. He and Molly lived in Norman for 50 years before returning to Ponca City in 2016. He enjoyed sports and enjoyed watching golf and football, especially the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He loved to bowl and was on a bowling league at the Norman Bowling Alley. He bowled for years and his sister says he was very good at it. As he got older, he was on the Senior Citizens team, until he moved back to Ponca in 2016.
