Renewed focus: Drummond tells OPA members he wants transparency, accountability

SHAWNEE — State Attorney General Gentner Drummond has been on the job now for 20 weeks, and in that time he has been working on a renewed focus on transparency and government accountability. In his short time since taking office, he has made some big decisions that have sometimes put him at odds with some of state’s top elected leaders.

Regular Session Ends

As regular session came to an end, one of the highlights of the year was the opportunity for Senator Coleman and I to have the Lincoln Elementary School 5th-grade chorus with Amy Muegge from Ponca City perform in the Capitol rotunda. I’m so proud of these outstanding young people and their talent. It’s always great to have folks from the district visit the Capitol.

Cowley releases President’s, Dean’s honor rolls for the spring semester

The Registrar’s Office at Cowley College has released the names of students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor rolls for the spring 2023 semester. Students listed on the President’s Honor Roll earned 4.0 grade-point averages on a 4.0 scale, and completed a minimum of 12 credit hours.

June 6, 2023 Disturbance - At 12:06 am, the reporting party requested an officer in reference to a lot of yelling and possible gunshots near the intersection at 301 W. Hartford. Things were quiet when the officer arrived on scene. The office spoke with several subjects and they advised they heard nothing.
