Wheeler Dealers September Campout

Body
Members of the Wheeler Dealers camping club enjoy camping at new places. The September campout was held at scenic Natural Falls State Park which was a first time visit for the majority of the members. The park is located near the Oklahoma/Arkansas state line just west of Siloam Springs, AR. Club hosts for the campout included Bob and Merrilee Nunnalee, Nowata and Gary and Charlotte Piersall and Larry and Elaine Stevens, Bartlesville. According to the state tourism website travelok.com Natural Falls State Park features a stunning 77-foot waterfall cascading through rock formations and creating a hidden, serene atmosphere at the bottom of a narrow V-shaped valley. Many of the members took advantage of the trail stopping at the observation platform to view the falls with other members hiking on down to the foot of the falls where another observation deck with seating is located. The beautiful scenery looks familiar to many visitors because scenes from the 1974 movie, “Where the Red Fern Grows” were filmed in the park.

Pets of the Week

Body
Manx, a gorgeous 7 year-old Domestic Shorthair, is this weeks cat of the week. Manx is very shy when you first get to know her, but don’t let that fool you, she is incredibly loving and playful after she comes out of her shell. Manx’s looks are often over looked because of her beginning shyness, but she is also incredibly beautiful. With unique markings and bright green eyes, Manx could stop a heart. She was unfortunately given up by her previous owner and is looking for someone to love. Manx is very cuddly and sweet and would more than likely make a wonderful lap cat when she gets comfortably around someone. She is also very playful. During our visit, Manx could not stop playing with a little strawberry toy. Because of her age, Manx does not seem to have those kitten tendencies of biting and scratching, but instead is more relaxed and calm. Manx would be a great addition to any family and seems to get along very well with other cats.
