A Panasonic spokesperson said Friday that the company will not build a multibillion-dollar battery plant at Pryor’s MidAmerica Industrial Park.

The front windows of the Newkirk Heritage Center are a stimulating display of Christmas cheer. Located on North Main Street, it is the most striking display on the block. One side sees Santa Claus relaxing in a sudsy bath, the other showing the Peanuts gang skating gracefully on a wintry, frozen pond, painted by local artist Morgan Wathor.
