The 2020 Festival of Lights opened the gates on Wednesday evening at Lake Ponca- Park. This year was a little bit different than usual. Visitors stayed in their cars and drove through the park to enjoy the lights. Children were greeted on either side of the car by Santa and Mrs. Claus who handed out gloves and snacks.

Mary Jane Harjo Black was 95 years young when she departed from this world to eternal life on November 24, 2020. She was born on October 14, 1925 in Paden Oklahoma to Cheparney and Loske` Harjo.

Walter William “Bill” Phillips, age 86, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away November 24, 2020, at his home. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Williams officiating. He will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery following the service. For those unable to attend, the service will be lived streamed. Gayle A. (Stiver) Harris, 81, died peacefully September 22, 2020 at her home in Lakewood, Colorado, of cancer, with friends and family in attendance.

The Kay County 4H Livestock Judging team took home several awards at the first annual CUTS Livestock Judging Contest in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Overall Team Awards: Jr Team - 1st, Sr Teams - 2nd & 3rd.
