Maxine (Bales) Hinkle, of Edmond, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the age of 94. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel, located at 610 S. Duncan Street, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Carney Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024. Pastor Jeffery Bales (nephew) will be officiating. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Maxine was born in Goodnight, Oklahoma, on March 10, 1930, to Delbert and Orpha (Reynolds) Bales. Growing up in the Tryon area, she met the love of her life Kenneth Hinkle. Maxine and Kenneth were wed on January 31, 1948. They made their home in Ponca City for the next 50 years, raising their family there until moving to Edmond in 2000. Maxine was the cherished mother of Jo Ann and Donna Jean, and the loving motherin- law of Jay and Warren. She was the doting Grammie to her grandchildren Annelise (Warren), Joshua (Christi), Michael, James, and Grammie the Great to her great grandchildren Sawyer, Ransom, Harper, Parker, Dillon, and Carlton.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth, her daughter Donna Jean, and her grandson Michael.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay McGee, Warren Dickson, Joshua Christensen, James Dickson, Warren Clifton, and Joshua McGee.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests donations be made in Maxine’s name to the OK Humane Society, 7500 North Western Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73116, or to the charity of your choice.
