‘Blue Beetle’ review: A reluctant superhero in a better-than-average DC Comics movie

“Blue Beetle” works, basically, and that puts it ahead of the game for most DC Comics- derived movies. Its scale is more human than corporate. And it’s really nice to get out of Gotham and visit a new fictional urban center: Palmera City, imagined here as Miami with a hint of “Blade Runner,” if “Blade Runner” enjoyed a little sunshine.

Misosula Children’s Theatre returns to the Burford this September

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring troupe is coming to Arkansas City this September to work with area youth on a production of THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA, sponsored by the VJ Wilkins Foundation. The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for more than 40 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,200 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors.
