Softball Lady Cats honored

Ponca City softball pitcher Bri Meyer was named to the All-District team as first team pitcher in a vote of district coaches. And coach Jeneva Nelson was named Coach of the Year for the district.

The All-District and All-Conference teams were announced on Tuesday.

In addition 11 Lady Cats were named as honorable mention members of the All-District team.

In the Oklahoma Big Seven, Six Lady Cats were named to the first All- Conference team and six others were awarded honorable mention honors.

The All-District selections: Bri Meyer, first team pitcher; Janeva Nelson, Coach of the Year. Honorable mention honors went to Audrey Varner, Madelyn Blackstar, Savannah Clark, Caitlin Cooper, Baylee Stewart, Sanaya Rabb, Ja’Kiya Colbert, Kadence Elliott, Adisyn Ivers and Mashta Littlecook.

All-Conference honors went to Bri Meyer, pitcher of the year; Audrey Varner, catcher; Madelyn Blackstar, middle infield; Savannah Clark, corner infield; Camila Bohon, outfield; and Caitlin Cooper, utility. Honorable mention all-conference were Baylee Stewaart, Sanaya Rabb, Ja’Kiya Colbert, Kadence Elliott, Adisyn Ivers and Mashta Littlecook.

District teams included Owasso, Choctaw, Tulsa Union, Muskogee, Broken Arrow, Ponca City, Del City and Norman North.

Conference teams include Midwest City, Enid, Ponca City, Putnam City North, Choctaw, Putnam City West and Putnam City.

The Lady Cats had a 27-14 record for the recently completed season.
