Northern Oklahoma College Soccer picked up conference wins over Rose State Thursday in Tonkawa.

The #6 women slipped by Rose State 1-0 while the #13 men dominated the Raiders 4-2.

The Maverick women are 6-1 on the year while the men are 5-1.

Mavs’ Women 1, Rose State 0 Milica Bulatovic scored the game winner in the 88th minute as NOC beat Rose State 1-0.

Bulatovic scored off a pass from Josie Jarvis who made a pin point pass to Bulatovic who headed the pass into the net.

“What a great game,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “The girls gave everything they had. Josie Jarvis is not human. She does not get tired. She played the entire game and still had the energy to run by defenders in the 88th minute. I thought our midfield was terrific today. They dominated the game. If you are a soccer fan or even a fan of incredible athletes you need to come watch Milica Bulatovic.”

“Players like her do not come around very often,” he added. “She didn’t play her best today, but she made two huge plays when we needed them the most. It looked like it wasn’t going to be our day. I felt like we dominated the game, but the ball just would not go in. Anytime you have two shots cleared off the line you know you are not destined to score, but the girls kept coming at them. Rose State is a great team. It was a good win, but we have to go back to work and keep improving.”

NOC had 19 shots to Rose State’s 13. NOC keeper Jamie Rowlands had a clean sheet stopping five Raider shots.

Mavs’ Men 4, Rose State 2

NOC picked up another hat trick from Damorney Hutchinson as the sophomore from Soho, Jamaica, has 12 goals in six games. Jesus Aleman scored the other Maverick goal. Marcovich Brown had two assists while Lewis Albert added one.

NOC outshot Rose 15-11. Harry Archer stopped four Rose State shots.

“I give the boys credit,” said coach Michael Duroy. “We made some big changes after the last game, and they did a good job adapting to them. Damorney (Hutchinson) is playing on another level right now. He is so fast and strong that he is tough to stop. I am concerned though that we give up so many goals immediately after we score. We have been doing it all year, and it has to stop. We also give up too many corners and free kicks. It’s good to be on top of the conference, but we can still play a lot better.”

NOC travels to National Park (AR) on Sunday at 2 p.m. for a pair of conference games.
