TISHOMINGO, Oklahoma – Northern Oklahoma College soccer collected two shut out wins Sunday at Murray State College.

The women’s team (4-0) were 2-0 winners while the men’s team (4-0) won 3-0.

Mavs’ Women 2, Murray 0

Milica Bulatovic and Sofie Joergensen had goals for the Mavs while Jaime Rowlands stopped five shots on goal to earn the shut out. NOC outshot Murray State 9-5.

“It was a great game for us,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “Our midfield played their best game of the year so far. Their movement was much better and we were able to connect more passes. Rachael Chatterji and Nadia Chavez were as solid as usual. Maybe the best aspect of the game was that we rested Milica Bulatovic the entire second half. This was our third game in five days and the girls are worn down. It was great to get some reserves in the game for big minutes and the fact that we scored a goal with Milica on the bench was a good sign. I’m proud of the effort that the girls are giving.”

Mavs 3, Murray 0

In the men’s game, the Mavs used goals from Damorney Hutchinson had two goals while George Robinson added one in the 3-0 win.

Spencer Braswell stopped all the Aggie shots, Braswell has not allowed a goal in three conference games this year.

“This was a high level game. Murray State is good,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “They really challenged us. I’m proud of Spencer Braswell. He has only allowed one goal all season. Our midfield and defense are hard to break down. We don’t give up too many good chances.”

“You could tell we were tired at the end,” DuRoy added. “Three games in five days plus a long bus ride took its toll. I need to do a better job of trusting our depth in big situations. Those guys will come through for us. We need to focus on improving. Each win makes the next game more important.”

The Mavs next game will be Friday at home against NEO A&M. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
