ENID -- The Ponca City Wildcats lost their second game of the young season Friday, as Enid prevailed 68-54.

The Wildcats were behind most of the way, trailing 291-7 at the end of the first half, 46-38 after three periods.

Ponca City made a couple of bids to bypass the Plainsmen, but couldn’t quite get over the hump. The Wildcats got within six points at one spot in the third quarter and within five once in the fourth quarter.

Enid’s Trey Davis mad a big difference in the game, scoring 18 points. Sixteen of those came in the second half as Ponca City was making its bids to close the scoring gap.

Wildcat Tay Moore had a good night, leading all scorers in the game with 21 points. Luke Hollis also reached double figures with 14.

Ponca City is now 0-2 with a game set Tuesday night at Putnam City North.
