Tim Sayles, 76, of Ponca City, OK, passed away on February 12, 2023. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. A Rosary Ceremony will held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Carson Krittenbrink officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Tim was born to Herb and Eva Sayles on September 15, 1946 in Tulsa, OK. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1964, and went on to attend Oklahoma State University. After college, he began working with City Services in Ponca City before beginning his career with Conoco/Phillips 66 as a Field Coordinator.

Tim married his wife, Sylvia, on July 23, 1988. Devoted to each other, they moved through life together, enjoying the good times, weathering the bad, and supporting each other through it all. Tim was always willing to help and had a way of showing genuine interest in others, even when engaging in casual conversation.

Happiest when he was busy, he spent his retirement cultivating his passion for classic cars and working on a variety of classic trucks, cars, and motorcycles. Tim enjoyed western culture, war history, and taking “the boys” (his dogs Lucky and Smokey) for rides. A true “jack of all trades” he could fix just about anything and spent many hours in his workshop working on his projects.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Shannon McLain. He is survived by: his wife, Sylvia Sayles; brother, Mike Sayles (Janis) of Denver, CO; sister, Patricia Hough; son, Timmy Sayles (Heather) of Ponca City, OK; step-son, Jason Johnson (Kathe Jo) of Ponca City, OK; son-in-law, Andy McLain of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Ashlynn and Mitchell McLain of Edmond, OK, Lauren Johnson of Ponca City, OK; previous wife Linda Harrison, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Dennis Newland, Steve McConnell, Terry Evans, Jason Johnson, Mitchell McLain, and Michael Jones. Honorary Pallbearers include Mike Sayles, Phillip Galvan, Rick Galvan, Mike Galvan, and Frank Rogers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic School Endowment Fund, 415 S. 7th St., Ponca City, OK 74601.
