Terry Forcum of Wichita, KS passed away July 26th, 2022, at the age of 80. Terry was born in Downey, CA to Harold and Vera Forcum who preceded him in death.

Terry attended high school in Ponca City, OK graduating in 1960. After high school Terry entered the rodeo circuit as a bull rider for four years. In 1964 Terry was drafted into the US Army. He spent the next two years in Wurtzburg, Germany. Terry also played football, baseball, boxed and golf while serving in the armed forces in Germany. Terry first picked up a golf club at the age of 10 years old. He realized by the age of 14-15 years old that he could hit the ball a long way. Terry became a professional golfer in 1975. He competed in the National Long Drive Championship several years, winning 6th place in 1976, 2nd place in 1982, 1st place in 1983 and 3rd place in 1988. Terry is the only person to finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the National Long Drive Championship in his 40’s. Terry competed in his last National Long Drive Championship in 2008 at the age of 66. Terry’s longest drive was 547 yards. His longest competition drive was 369 yards in Tokyo, Japan. He hit a 427-yard drive at a P.G.A Clinic. He had 361 yards measured while on his knees. Could hit a ball up to 300 yards out of a box with a 4 wood and hit a 7 iron 257 yards. The pro long drive association list Terry as a pioneer of the long drive sport. Terry was a founding member of the 350 club, the original group of long drivers who toured the world putting on exhibitions and clinics.

Outside of Terry’s athletic career he was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and storyteller.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Genny Forcum. He is also survived by one son Jeff Forcum of Wichita, KS. Two daughtersBrenda Davis of Wellington, KS, and Brooke Jehle of Haysville, KS. His two brothers, Harold Forcum of Kingman, KS, and Joe Forcum and his wife Wendy of Claremore, OK. Grandchildren Cassie Linn Forcum of Jacksonville, FL, Jenna and Vinnie Vancour of Statesville NC, Kate Broeckleman and Issac of Hutchinson, KS, and Tiffany Jehle. Great grandchildren Ethan, Evan, and Elaine Broekleman. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and one great-great nephew.

Terry was also proceeded in death by one son Brent Vickery and one sister-inlaw Paulette Forcum.

Terry was a beloved Husband and wonderful Father, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and all-around good guy. He will be missed by many.

There will be a celebration of life for Terry from 3:00 – 6:00pm on August 20th, 2022 at Willowbend Golf Club in Wichita, KS. All are welcome to attend.
