Tana Lee Arrington, 82, of Ponca City, OK, met her Savior on September 9, 2022. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the Sunset Baptist Church, 915 W. Greenwood Ave, Ponca City, OK, with Reverend Russ Aday officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of County Cremation Service, 1901 E. Hubbard Rd., Ponca City, OK 74604.

Tana was born on November 6, 1939, in Billings, Montana, to Jurgen D. and Winnifred (Moore) Dykstra. She grew up in rural Montana, first north of Columbus, then near Roberts.She graduated high school in Roberts, and attended two years of college. She had a younger brother, Jerry, and two younger sisters, Rena and Elena.

Tana moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in the early 1960s, where she met Richard Lynn Arrington, whom she married on June 22, 1964. They made their home in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where Richard was a school teacher in the Ponca City Public Schools. Tana and Richard had three children, Rick, Mike, and Lisa, whom they loved very much (and they loved her!) She adored her seven grandchildren, as well as he great granddaughter. She greatly enjoyed watching them grow up, and was always asking them about their activities and interests.

In addition, Tana served her Lord at Sunset Baptist Church for many years, teaching children’s Sunday School, and working with preschoolers in the church’s Mission Friends program. She was a friend to any, and could always be counted on to listen to the troubles of others and provide wisdom.

Tana always loved animals since childhood. To list the many pets that have lived in her home would be a difficult task, but she loved each and every one!

Tana is survived by; her husband of 58 years, Richard, of the home; children, Richard Dean Arrington and his wife, Patti, of Springdale, AR, Michael Sterling Arrington and his wife Patti of Freeport, PA, Lisa Marie Jennings of Ponca City, OK; grandchildren, Jonathan Dean Arrington of Edmond, OK, Noah Christopher Arrington of Springdale, AR, Ainsley Elizabeth Arrington, Matthew Karsten Arrington, Emma Grace Arrington and Hannah Leigh Arrington of Freeport, PA, Miranda Anne Rowe of Arkansas City, KS; great-granddaughter Devyn Rene Rowe of Arkansas City, KS; sisters, Rena Ann Laughrey and husband Terry of Billings, MT, and Elena Petersen and her husband Darrell of Park City, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Tana was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerry Dykstra and sisterinlaw, Darlene Dykstra. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mission Friends at Sunset Baptist Church, 915 W Greenwood Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
