Sandra “Sandy” Sue (Galvan) McEnany, 71, passed away on December 25, 2022. No viewing is scheduled at this time. Celebration of Life Services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Peachtree Landing, 105 W Hazel Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601; as Sandy supported their mission of providing temporary emergency shelter and helping individuals and families live independently. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Sandy was born on August 9, 1951 to Phil and Esther Galvan in Ponca City, OK. After attending St. Mary’s Catholic School for grades 1-11, she graduated from Unity High School in 1969, and began working at a number of companies, including many years at Conoco/Phillips 66.

Sandy married her true match and confidant, Steve McEnany, March 26, 2001, later in life, but they made the most of their time together and enjoyed going to the lake, camping, fishing, and cheering for the Sooners. A big part of her grandson Drew’s life. He will always remember her as a tough woman who loved her family and was a devoted Gram Gram.

She was part of a circle of friends who have spent a lifetime together, celebrating the good times and helping each other weather the bad. These friends, here for her in death as they were in life, are serving as honorary pallbearers: Merlene Berg, Marsha Eubank, Delma Holmes, Debbie Roland, Benita Vap, and Gail White.

Fiercely independent, Sandy’s stubborn streak was as well-known as her fantastic sense of humor and her memorable laugh. She saw the humor in everyday occurrences and recognized that sometimes all you can do is laugh.

Sandy was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Tina Gail Kirk, husband, Steve McEnany; in-laws, Bill and Betty McEnany, and her step-son, Heath McEnany. She is survived by: her daughters, Angela Kirk and Shelly Williamson; step children, Vicky Stockton and Tyler McEnany (Jackie); grandchildren, Andrew Rateliff (Jessica), Cheyenne Brennon, Jenna Stockton, Everette McEnany, Wren McEnany, and Marshall McEnany; great-grandchildren, McKinley, Phinlee, Mason, Everlee, and Oliver Rateliff, and Winslow Brennon; siblings, Phillip Galvan (Jackie), Sonya Rogers (Frank), Rick Galvan (Colleen), Sylvia Sayles (Tim), and Mike Galvan; brother-in-law, Mike McEnany (Pam); sister in-law, Lisa Morrison (Kevin), and numerous nieces and nephews.

While Sandy is no longer with us, her family takes comfort in knowing that she was able to spend Christmas with her beloved husband and daughter in heaven.
