Rosetta Cavner of Ponca City, Oklahoma, formerly of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Elmer Charles “George” and Aultna (Huffman) Hathorn on November 24, 1935 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and passed from this life on September 22, 2019 in Ponca City at the age of 83 years.

Rosetta grew up and attended school in Grants, New Mexico, graduating in 1952. On August 31, 1957, Rosetta married Ray Cavner in Artesia, New Mexico.

She worked at the Artesia Police Department and later worked at Kerr-McGee as a switch board operator.

Rosetta retired in 2008 from a career in hotel management. In her spare time, she enjoyed art, painting, and was a wonderful cook.

Mrs. Cavner is survived by sons Deon Cavner and wife Nancy of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Elmer Cavner of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Les Cavner of Ponca City, Oklahoma, two brothers, Grover Hathorn and wife Mari of Southfork, Colorado and Sonny Hathorn of Milan, New Mexico, sister Bobbie Merchant and husband Buddy of Roswell, New Mexico, 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cavner, parents Elmer and Aultna Hathorn and two sisters, Loraine Metgzer and Ina Hathorn.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2019 at the Milo Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Johnston officiating.
