Phyllis was born October 21, 1927, to Charles O. Mann and Jennie Marie (Blair) Mann in Ponca City. She grew up in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1946.

Hugh’s work took them to Tulsa, Texas, New Mexico, Lindsay, OK, Utah, Wyoming, and Pauls Valley, OK. While in Texas, they were blessed with a son, Arnal David Wiles. Phyllis worked at banks in Utah and Wyoming. She made life-long friends at the banks, some who called her daily the last few years of her life.

Phyllis researched the genealogy of her family and her husband’s family and had extensive volumes of the families’ history. She was a member the the First Baptist Church of Ponca City. She was not shy about sharing the Word of the Lord. She was a prayer warrior. Phyllis loved jigsaw puzzles and spent many hours with her friend and neighbor, Lilly Freeman, working on them.
