Lynda Sue Wilson went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 19, at the age of 77. She was the middle of five children born to Merle and Rachel Kelly. She was raised in the Bressie and Marland communities, where her parents owned and operated the Kelly Station and farmed. Lynda attended grade school at Rein School in Bressie and graduated from Marland High School, where she enjoyed 4-H activities and played basketball.

Upon graduation, she married the love of her life, E.J. Wilson, on July 4, 1963, at the First Christian Church in Ponca City. They would have been married for 59 years, this July 4. Lynda and E.J. made their home in Ponca City and their church home at First Christian, where Lynda had attended since childhood.

Lynda worked for Paris Furniture prior to the birth of their daughter. While their daughter was in school, she served as City Wide PTA Council President and on the state board as the Northwest Regional PTA Vice President, as well as President of the Church Women’s Fellowship.

She also worked part-time as a Avon Sales Representative, Childers’ Auction Company book keeper, First Christian Church youth coordinator, and Conoco, Inc. secretary. She later worked full time for Conoco, Inc. as a clerk in the refinery.

Lynda loved her husband, daughter and grandson; her extended family, her church family, and her many forever friends.

She is survived by her husband E.J., daughter Tana, and grandson John Aaron; sister-in-law Shirley Miller; sister-in-law Vicky Kelly; sister-in-law Alice Kelly; brother-in-law Kenneth Wilson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Cheryl Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by their infant son Troy Jon born in 1967. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bob Miller, Jimmy Kelly, and Jack Kelly; her sister Patsy Gammon, brother-in-law Corky Gammon, and nieces Kelly Gammon and Kim Howard; father-in-law and mother-in-law Woodrow and Carrie Wilson; sister-in-law Loretta Wilson and nephew Terry Wilson; and sister-in-law Barbara Thompson and nephew Danny Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at First Christian Church in Ponca City at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 with Pastor Stephen Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Ponca City. A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church of Ponca City, 210 N 5th St Ponca City, OK 74601.
