Joy Darlene Robbins Snyder, 87, of Ponca City, OK, left her earthly life on March , 2024 surrounded by her immediate family.

A viewing will be held at Trout Funeral Home, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Thursday, March 28, 2024. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 29, 2024, at Eastern Heights Christian Church, 5100 Lake Rd, Ponca City, OK 74604, with Pastor Mark Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 1901 E. Hubbard Rd, Ponca City, OK 74604. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Joy was born to Roy and Ruth Robbins in Vinita, OK on Friday, August 7th, 1936. She was one of 2 children.

Joy attended Miami High School where she was a member of the Theater Club and in the choir.

In November of 1952, out of thousands of entrants across the United States, Joy was awarded Honorable Mention in the Miss Grit Beauty Contest by the Grit Publishing Company out of New York City. In the spring of 1954, Joy graduated from high school. She drove a yellow 1953 Bel Aire Convertible that she loved very much. She worked as a dental assistant where she met the love of her life, Jack Snyder. He came in to her dental office to get a tooth fixed and left with her heart.

Joy and Jack were married in Miami on May 8th, 1957. They had 5 children together. Joy was an avid bowler and was on several championship teams. She had a lovely singing voice. Joy played the piano at church and often sang for the congregation.

She and Jack moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1970. They celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Joy enjoyed bowling, playing church hymns on the piano and visiting with family and friends. She loved the holidays when her entire family would gather together. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she has the sweatshirts to prove it. She boasted about them often.

Joy believed her biggest accomplishments were raising her children and serving the Lord.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene Hawkins (Garland) of Tuttle, OK - son Bob Snyder (Ginger) of Choctaw, OK - son-in-law Randy Rouse of Ponca City, OK daughter Rhonda Owens (Don) of Ponca City - son Tom Snyder (Renee) of Edmond, OK - sister Zemita Martin (Jack) of Mesa, AZ - , Grandchildren: Blaine & Brandon Hawkins, Rachel Kirk, Jacob Snyder, Trevor Owens, Chelce’ Rouse, RT Rouse, Derek Jacob, & Jada Snyder.

Great Grandchildren: Oliver Hawkins, Brayden Snyder, Addison Kirk, Adalyn Baker, Wren Rouse, Nolan Jack Frances, Hunter Jacob and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, Jack, and her daughter Cheryl Rouse.

She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband in Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City, OK.
