Jane Gaye Alexander, 67, of Owasso, OK passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK after a reoccurrence of cancer. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Parker Cemetery, Arkansas City, KS. The Reverend Dr. Francisco Pelaez-Diaz will officiate. Friends may greet the family Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory. Masks are requested to be worn for the safety of everyone. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be announced at a later date for mid-late summer.

Jane was born February 22, 1955, to Robert F. and M. Maxine (Coggins) Ryman in Arkansas City, Kansas. She grew up and attended schools in Arkansas City, graduating from Ark City High School in 1973.

On May 25, 1975, Jane married Ronald “Ron” Alexander at the First United Methodist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas. The couple made their home in many different states before settling most recently in Owasso, Oklahoma in 2016.

Jane had a strong passion for serving and working with people. She kindly served the customers of Nationwide Insurance for many years in rural Ohio, and she had been a proud member of the Chick-fil-A hospitality team in Owasso since 2017. She was also a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, served on the Farm Bureau Board of Wayne County, Ohio, and was a coordinator for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days Campaign for many years in Ohio. She was especially active throughout her life in the United Methodist Church’s missions, women’s, and children’s programs. Jane was also known for her decorations and crafts for all seasons, especially Christmas. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and planning special gatherings and celebrations. Jane will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband Ron Alexander of Owasso, OK; daughter Brandy Alexander and husband Francisco Pelaez-Diaz of Princeton Junction, NJ; sisters Billie (Vestal) Swanson and husband Larry of Arkansas City, KS; Judy (Vestal) Learned and husband Gary of Dexter, KS; two grandchildren Oliver and Max Pelaez-Alexander; nieces and nephews Julie (Swanson) Voelker and husband Chuck of Sycamore, KS; Jeff Swanson and wife Darla of Arkansas City, KS; Jennifer (Swanson) Wilson and husband Donnie of Riley, KS; sister-in-law Rhonda (Alexander) Broker and husband Dave of South Hutchinson, KS; brother-in-law Rodney Alexander of Ponca City, OK; and numerous other extended family.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Michelle Smith. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shreve United Methodist Church Missions Committee - “Jane Alexander Memorial Fund” to provide scholarships for future mission work trip participants.
