Those unable to attend the Funeral Ceremony, may attend virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com and click on the live-stream or toolbar icon on the top right corner after 12:45 PM.

Dale was born to James A. and Clara Megenity on November 28, 1953, in Ponca City, and grew up on the family farm near Ceres, OK. He attended school at Red Rock, where he was active in 4-H, FFA, and basketball, graduating with honors. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University, graduating magna cum laud in 1977 with a BA in History, followed by another year of college where he acquired his teaching certification.

It was while attending OSU that Dale met the love of his life, Dianne Saffold. They were married on December 27, 1976, and were blessed with two children, Erin Rachel and Kyle Evan.

Dale was a computer programmer at Conoco for several years before returning to farming. He was a lifelong hunter and OSU sports fan. His love for history, Biblical Creationism, and politics continued to capture his time and interest his entire life.

Above all else, though, was Dale’s love for his family and his Lord, Jesus Christ. He and Dianne loved following both kids to all their various sporting events throughout the years, rarely missing even one game home or away, a tradition they were continuing with grandkids.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, James A. Megenity, and grandparents, Jack and Ethel Megenity, and Roy and Elsie Foreman.

Surviving are his wife, Dianne, of Ponca City; daughter, Erin Jeffries and her husband, James, of Norman, OK; son, Kyle Megenity and his wife, Cheyenne, of Ponca City, OK, grandchildren Bethany Jeffries and Luke, Madilynn, Parker, and Jude Megenity; his mother, Clara Megenity of Red Rock, OK; his sister, Karen Root and husband, Edward, of Red Rock, OK; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Bell and husband, Preston, of Oklahoma City, his brother-in-law, William Saffold, and wife, Deanna, of Reidsville, NC, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions can be made in Dale’s name to NewPoint Church, 109 W Hartford Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601
