Glenda Marie Garrison born March 11, 1941, died Friday, November 20, 2020, peacefully at home in Houston, Texas. While born in Texas, Glenda spent most of her life in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She was married to David R. Garrison on July 11, 1962, and in Ponca they raised two sons, David T. and Darin. She was a long-time member of the first United Methodist Church of Ponca City, where she spent countless hours volunteering, especially helping cook and serve meals for families after the death of a loved one. Her charity work did not end with the Church, as she donated and delivered thousands of toys and meals to Ponca families in need at Christmas. For many years, Glenda worked as assistant to Dr. Gus Kever and Dr. Derek Smith, helping to take care of hundreds of patients in North and Central Oklahoma. Glenda was known for her sunny disposition, down-home cooking, and warmth of companionship. She is survived by Darin, her two daughters by choice Tanya and Tammie, and her three grandchildren Grace, Riley, and Grant. She will be missed by so many friends who will always cherish her infectious laugh and adventurous spirit. Due to the current health crisis, the Family will have a small private service in Oklahoma City.
