Gary Duane Schauer passed away on Dec. 17, 2019, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Gary was the son of Richard (Abe) and Catherine Schauer. He was born on Jan. 2, 1967, in Oklahoma City. Gary grew up in Blackwell. In high school Gary was on both the football and wrestling teams.

After graduation Gary joined the Marines and moved to Florida. After being discharged from the Marines he went to work for a shrimp company. He loved being near and on the water.

Gary moved back to Blackwell in July of 2012 to help his family. He was an avid reader and spent a lot of time at the library. He loved his dog Heidi. Gary helped many people by becoming an organ donor.

Gary joins his dad and nephew Justin Johns. He is survived by his mother Catherine, sister Leasa and husband Tom, nephews Damian Johns, Adam Hancock, T.J. Wright, nieces Jennifer Smith, Sheila Wright, Rebecca Wright and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He wish was to be cremated.
