Gale Lynn Hadley, a lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lynn, as he was known by all, was born on June 8, 1947, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His family moved to Ponca City in 1958, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with meaningful connections and accomplishments. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1965, setting the stage for his future endeavors. In 1966, Lynn answered the call of duty when he was drafted into the Army. He dedicated himself to serving his country from September 1966 to August 1968 and exhibited unwavering courage during his service in Vietnam, earning two Purple Hearts and other commendations for his bravery.

After his military service, Lynn continued his education at Oklahoma State University and also found the love of his life, Amy Vian Farnam. On August 8, 1969, Lynn and Vian joined their lives in matrimony. Five years later, they welcomed their only child, Kris Thomas Hadley.

Lynn was a man of many talents and interests. He loved listening to music, reading, spending time outdoors and tinkering. He was always working on projects around the house. His friends and family knew about his passion for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was never shy about telling someone how Jesus had changed his life. Lynn’s enthusiasm for life and helping people was truly infectious.

Sadly, Lynn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vian, and his parents, Arthur and Maxine Hadley. However, his memory lives on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Mary Fouts of Copan, Oklahoma, who he met after they both lost their spouses. Lynn’s legacy lives on through his son and daughter in-law, Kris and Michelle Hadley of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and his two adoring grandsons, Joshua and Nathan Hadley. He is also survived by his brother and sister-inlaw, Larry and Shelley Hadley of Ponca City, brother-in-law, John Farnam of Tulsa, OK, his youngest brother, Darren Hadley of Ponca City, his nephew and his wife, Justin and Patricia Hadley of Ponca City, and his niece, Mandy Hadley of Oklahoma City.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team at Cura Hospice of Tulsa, Oklahoma, for their unwavering love and support during Lynn’s battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Lynn Hadley to Clarehouse (7617 S Mingo Rd, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74133).

The family will receive friends at Trout Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023. A service to celebrate Lynn’s life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. on Monday with burial following in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Lynn was a man of honor, courage, and deep love for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
