Dorothy Buck passed away peacefully in Durham, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New York, graduated from Rice University and obtained two Masters degrees from the University of Texas.

She lived in Ponca City for 41 years.

She spent her time and energy giving to her family and to her community.

She was blissfully married to her husband Erwin Buck for 51 years (who predeceased her in 2015). Their lives centered around their family with their three children, Dorothy E, Cathy and August Erwin, and six grandchildren.

She was a librarian at Ponca City High School and later East Middle School.

She was a generous and active member of Grace Episcopal Church, including in Altar Guild, ECW, handbells and Daughters of the King.

She was an active leader in the schools as a parent volunteer including IMPA and PTA.

Within the broader community, she was a dedicated driver for Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at Friendship Feast, Habitat for Humanity, and the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, among others.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her brother Alan and his family.
