Dennis Lee Gray of Ponca City, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, February 17, 2022, at his home, following a courageous three year battle with colon cancer, at the age of 72 years.

Dennis Lee Gray was born on January 3, 1950, in Toppenish, Washington, to James Clifton and Elva Jean (Pearson) Gray. He grew up in Peckham and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1968. He entered the United States Army in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1972. He worked as Head of Security at Conoco for many years. He married in 1969 to which four children were born. He met Carolyn Harris-Gray in 1989 and married his true and forever love in 1997. He was loved by so many and will be missed beyond words.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harris-Gray of Ponca City; daughters, Gayle Vance and husband Jody of Lawton, Lea Blenz of Newkirk, and Julie Mazurier and husband Jeff of Ponca City; a stepson, Craig Thilsted and wife Monica of Edmond; grandchildren, Hope Gray, Cory Neely, Brooke Smith, Carly Neely, Morgan Wright, Dalton Mazurier, Hunter Gray-Lake, Hannah Lake, Isabel Mazurier and Elle Thilsted; nine great grandchildren; brother, Duane Gray and wife Ann; two sisters, Delma Holmes, Debra Helbach and husband Morris; Aunt Carole Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Gary Wayne Gray; his parents; and stepsons, Robert (Bobby)Thilsted and Garrett Harris.

A family graveside service was held on Monday, February 21st in the Blackwell Cemetery with Chaplain Justin Pickup officiating.

Honorary casketbearers were John Childress, Mike Mapel, Tom Mapel, Mark Mapel, Duane Mapel, Dalton Mazurier, Jim Sisney, Hunter Gray-Lake, Cory Neely and Jeff Mazurier.

Memorials have been established in his honor with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and American Cancer Society in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
