Danny Joe Scott, 73, of Ponca City, peacefully left this world to join his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born on February 27, 1950 in Arkansas City, KS to Paschal and Florence Scott, he was the 7th of 8 kids.

He grew up in Ponca City and attended school here. After leaving school, Danny trained under his Dad and followed in his footsteps to become a welder. One of the first places he worked with his Dad was in Ohio. They would come home on the weekends to spend quality time with the Family.

In the summer of 1968, on one of those weekend visits, Danny would meet the Love of His Life, Ramona Jolene Loveall. They were both Draggin’ Main in Blackwell, OK. It was Love at first sight and they were inseparable ever since. When Danny left to go back to work in Ohio, Ramona joined him. On September 1, 1969 Danny and Ramona were married at First Baptist Church in Blackwell. They spent the next 8 yrs. travelling around the country for work with their beloved dachshund, Penny. Their favorite places being Delaware and Illinois, but Oklahoma would always be home.

They found out that their tiny Family was about to get bigger, so Danny decided it was time to plant roots in Ponca City. Danny didn’t want to miss out on one second of Fatherhood. In April of 1977 their Family grew with the birth of their Daughter, Nancy. In March of 1980, their Family got a little bigger with the birth of their Daughter, Leslie. In September of 1981, their Family was complete with the birth of their Son, Danny Jr. (Bubba). They found a house on South 9th St. and the entire block was made up with mostly family. Over the years their house became the spot to be at. You would always find nieces, nephews, and kids from the neighborhood. Everyone was welcome in their home and they always made you feel safe and loved. There was always an open door policy and everyone was Family. Danny and Mona had an amazing life together. The Love Danny got out of being a Dad was everything to him, and then he found out the love of becoming Grandpa and with more love to follow becoming Great Grandpa.

He worked at Mertz Manufacturing for 38 years before retiring. Anytime during the week when you came over to the house after Danny got off work, he’d be in his chair at the dining room table, still in his work clothes, a Milwaukee’s Best in hand, and preparing to eat an amazing home cooked meal from Mona. On the weekends if he wasn’t coaching his kids sporting events, he was attending them. He loved being with his Brothers’ out at the “Funny Farm” or in Cookie’s garage. He loved going to car shows and getting his hands dirty. The Only thing that could possibly be close to the Love he had for His Family, was OU Football.

Danny is survived by his Daughters Nancy and Leslie, Son Danny (Bubba) and his wife Coena. Grandchildren: Erika, Natalie, Jaycee, Crystal, Gavin, Madden, Jason, Daxton, Rylee, Baylee, and Connlee. Great Grandchildren: Mason and Robyn. His Brother Bud and his wife Fern. Along with numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Danny is now in the company of His Wife Mona, Parents Paschal and Florence, His Brothers Billy, Fred, and Cookie, His Sisters Debra with Husband Charlie, Dovie with Husband Donny, and Vivian with Husband Gibb.
