The beautiful soul of Brenda Kay Myers passed on the morning of Thursday, December 16, 2021. Brenda was born in Fairfax, Oklahoma during the morning hours of Sunday, October 23, 1960, to Larry D. and Winifred L. Myers.

She lived her early years in Shidler, Oklahoma and attended grade school in Blackwell and Kaw City, Oklahoma. Brenda graduated from Shidler High School class of 1978 and from there attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

In January of 1980 Brenda married William Eric Foster. They made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years, until they later divorced.

Brenda adored her great nieces and nephews and was very active in their lives. She could frequently be seen helping them learn to cook and bake, teaching them a new song, reading stories, playing board games, nerf guns, blowing bubbles and sharing her generous love of life.

Brenda naturally found the good in others and the best in every situation. She was a selfless person, making sure the people around her had what they needed first. She always knew the right things to say and how to say them and made lifelong friends wherever she went. She loved taking trips with her dad and mom, sister, aunts, and many cousins. She was the person behind the scenes that made the magic happen. She was always up for a challenge and made everything she did look easy. She was always first to offer to make birthday, holiday, and wedding decorations. She baked the most amazing cakes, cookies, and breads for many of our family’s weddings, birthdays, and holiday gatherings.

Her talents took her in many directions from owning businesses to following her passions for cooking and gardening.

Brenda’s love of family included those here on earth and extended to her ancestors and cousins in heaven. Her genealogy research of family coupled with her strong desire to experience the land where they had built their homes, took her to Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, and Tennessee until she decided to make her way back home where she would spend the rest of her days.

Brenda possessed such an abundance of giving and selflessness that she chose to leave behind the most basic of estates… Her Body. Which she proudly willed to the study of Health-Science at the University of Oklahoma.

Brenda is survived by her parents, Larry and Winifred “Winnie” Myers of Kaw City, Oklahoma; Her sister, Tonya Myers Treat of Little Rock, Arkansas; her brother and sister-inlaw, Rick and Kristi Myers of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Nephews Jared Brashears, his wife Kate and their children Isabelle, Michael and James; Jacob Treat and partner Tony Birk; Joseph Treat, his wife Lacey and their children Lily and Lucas; Niece Madison Myers Burg, her husband Brett and their son Hayes; Nephews Garrett Myers and wife Angela; and Paxton Myers-McKenzie and husband Matt.

Services will be officiated by the Reverend Tom Howard and held Monday, December 20, 2021, 2:00pm at the Kaw City Community Center located at 700 East Morgan Dr. Kaw City, Oklahoma.
