OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 17, 2020) - First Physicians Capital Group (FPCG), an Oklahoma-based hospital management group, celebrates National Rural Health Day on Nov. 19. This day was created to celebrate the “Power of Rural” and bring awareness to rural healthcare. One in three Oklahomans lives in rural communities. As resources are dwindling, highlighting the importance of rural healthcare workers is needed to show appreciation to those who work in these communities. The role FPCG plays in the rural areas they serve provide healthcare and improvements to their hospitals around rural Oklahoma as well as invest philanthropically in the local communities.

First Physicians Capital Group manages three rural hospitals including Fairfax Community Hospital, The Physicians’ Hospital in Anadarko, and Stroud Regional Medical Center. These communities all have unique challenges, and it is more important than ever to be able to improve access and quality of care in rural health areas to everyone. At the onset of the pandemic, the hospitals partnered with OSU TeleHealth Solution to launch a telemedicine program for rural patients. The innovative tool provides rural hospital patients with immediate medical care using advanced technology to connect with certified, licensed physicians virtually and in real time.

The group is deeply invested in its staff with continued education, in hospital services with critical resources, and in the local communities they serve with contributions like emergency food boxes to personal protective equipment to meet their needs.
