Snakes Alive Exotic Rescue and Sanctuary is set to be at Petsense on Sat., Jan. 7 from 11 am to 4 pm. Snakes Alive has dedicated their lives to provide safety and relief to the animals in their community.

“We accept the challenge to deal with creatures that others may not take the time for.” says the Snakes Alive Rescue website In 1991, after seeing a nonprofit that supported animals in their community, they formed their own organization to focus on the more abnormal animals that were in need. Too often, the animals that they began to rescue were not thought of. The people of Snakes Alive combined the love they have for exotic animals and their desire to be voices for the voiceless into a more than 30-year old nonprofit that is committed to helping any animal necessary. They have grown from a snake rescue into a rescue for all. Currently they have a plethora of animals including snakes, bearded dragons, birds, chinchillas, hamsters, and so much more that they rescue, rehabilitate, and get adoption ready.

Many of their animals come from unfortunate situations and are looking for a second chance at happiness and Snakes Alive is dedicated to giving that to them. While running their facility, Snakes Alive makes time out of their schedule to do education and adoption events to break down the stereotypes that many of these animals face.

“We focus on making the maximum positive effect… We help out the animals that many people frown upon or simply don’t like. Our educational events help us to crash the barriers many people have against the amazing animals that we help rescue.”

There is no animal too odd or job too big when it comes to this rescue and their love for what they do. Snakes Alive has partnered with Ponca City’s Petsense many times in the past, which has led to many successful adoptions and this weekend is expected to be no different.
