Rural Water District No. 1 is currently updating and improving the water line for District No. 1 e ast of Ponca City, Oklahoma. The new infrastructure for this area is replacing the 3 and 4 inch old gray glue lines with 6 inch diameter 0-ring seal PVC lines.

The main contractor for the construction is McGuire Brother s Construction out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Diamond H Construction and Welding from Bristow, Oklahoma is the sub-contractor. The new lines are being replaced from the water tower on Lake Road and Ente rprise, north two miles to Prospect, west one mile to Rock Cliff Road and north 1 mile to the corner of Rock Cliff and Hubbard Road. This ties in with the line from the water tower on Hubbard Road west of that intersection. They will be boring in some locations along the route then trenching with a backhoe in all the other areas.

"The district is making the improvements to replace the old gray lines that have been causing problems in recent year s and to accommodate future growth in the area," said Hugh Leven the operational manager of Rural Water District No. 1.
