PonCon Micro-Fiction and Graphic Novel Contest opens August 1

This fall, from Oct. to Nov. PonCon will be fun for the whole family. There will be an animated film screening, food trucks, a Geek Garage sale, and Micro-Fiction and Graphic Novel Contests. The contests open Aug. 1 and close Oct. 15 and there are three different age categories for them both. Winners will be announced at the Geek Garage sale. Friends of the Library will be offering $150 and a $50 prize and Ponca City Art Association will give prizes for the Graphic Novel.

Throughout the months of Oct. and Nov. there will be different events hosted. First, there will be a free come-and-go create space on Oct. 15. from 9 am to 5 pm. The Ponca City Library will be dispensing art supplies such as paper, free photocopies, markers, staplers, and more for the families involved. There will also be a sign-up sheet for access to high-res printing and 3D editing provided by the Ponca City Development Authority on a first-come first-serve basis.

Another event is being presented by Ponca City Arts Association- City Arts, where they plan on hosting an art show from Nov. 3 through the 18 and is accepting submissions. Finally, the Geek Garage sale is set for Sat., Nov. 5 from 9 am to 5 pm at City Central. The garage sale will be where the winner for the Micro-Fiction and Graphic Novel Contests will be announced.

While the PonCon events are scheduled for a few months out, be sure to remember the deadline of Aug. 1 to Oct. 15 for the Micro-Fiction and Graphic Novel Contest and get ready for the PonCon to arrive in October.
