From Fri., Feb. 17 through Sun., Feb. 19 Evans Children’s Academy of Performing Arts performed their rendition of All Shook Up: The Musical. These kids worked incredibly hard to make this musical as incredible as it was. They all showed extreme dedication and talent while bringing to life this musical inspired by Shakespeare and filled with the greatest hits of Elvis Presley.

All Shook Up: The Musical is a heartwarming tale about the power of music, following your heart, and chasing your dreams. In a small Midwestern town, the people are thrown into a frenzy when an attractive, motorcycle-riding roustabout, Chad, arrives into town. With a guitar, blue suede shoes, and a song, he captures the attention of the townspeople. They begin to see the meaning of music and love as Chad changes their perspective of life, despite the repression from the town’s conservative mayor. People meet, fall in love, and the rest is history.

Chad, played by Lucas Pena, helps the town realize that there is a whole world out there that they have yet to experience. The other characters realize that love overcomes all, even if that love is for yourself. They performed a number of Elvis songs, including Blue Suede Shoes, Can’t Help Falling in Love, and All Shook Up.

Evans Children’s Academy of Performing Arts has several more shows planned for their 2022 - 2023 season. These include, Moana Jr. on April 13 through 16, Newsies on July 7 through 9, and A Year with Frog and Toad Kids in May.
