Poncan Theatre hosts actor/comedian Tatanka Means

The Kaw Nation and Ponca Tribe came together to present a free event last Saturday, July 24, featuring awardwinning actor and stand-up comedian Tatanka Means.

Means hails from Chinle, Arizona and represents the Navajo, Oglala Lakota, and Omaha Nations.

His most recent movie credits include the HBO limited series I Know This Much Is True with Mark Ruffalo, Once about a River, and The Liberator.

Recently, Means has worked on the upcoming Martin Scorsese film, Killers of the Flower Moon, based on the best selling book of the same name, and has completed filming on Canyon Del Muerto and Surrounded.

The event on Saturday saw Means signing autographs and doing his stand-up routine: Tatanka Means Show. After the show, Means was presented with gifts from both the Kaw Nation and the Ponca Tribe. Poncan Theatre Executive Director Christopher Radaker-James was also presented with a Pendleton by the Kaw Nation.

Lastly, a there was a showing of the film More Than Frybread, a film released in 2012 starring Means.
