Poncan Executive Director steps down after four years
After four years serving as the Executive Director of the Poncan Theatre, Christopher Radaker-James is stepping down on Wednesday, March 22 to accept a new role as Executive Director of the New Emergency Resource Agency (NERA) This information was revealed in an email shared by Radaker-James. The following is the letter: “Dear Poncan Theatre family, I am grateful for the last four years of serving as Executive Director of the Poncan Theatre. You are more than customers and volunteers; to me you are a community of friends. It has been an honor to provide entertainment, education, and inspiration for you and your families.
I will be concluding my role with the Poncan on Wednesday, March 22. My new role as Executive Director of the New Emergency Resource Agency (NERA) will begin soon after.
It is a bittersweet season for me and my family. We truly love all the Poncan has to offer our community, and our team of volunteers has been an incredible blessing.
Though I am leaving, the mission of the Poncan Theatre stays the same. The nonprofit company will continue to operate under the Board of Directors. The same individuals who gave our venue new seats and a new roof will be selecting new employees. Fresh faces and exciting ideas are around the corner.
I couldn’t be more excited for the future of the Poncan Theatre. You have helped us do incredible things, and even greater things are to come. Your contributions of time and resources preserve a beautiful, rare landmark and make Ponca City a better place. The continued success of the Poncan is in your capable hands.
I have chosen to prioritize training videos, checklists, and instructions in the coming week. I will not be as responsive to emails. I invite you to visit NERA on 1st Street in mid-April to say “hello” and see what the organization has to offer.
