Award winning Melody Hart Family and Friends performed at the Poncan Theatre on Sat., Feb. 25. Traveling all the way from Branson, Missouri, these talented musicians came to Ponca City to entertain the community. Not only was the concert filled with classic country and amazing artists, but comedian Jarrett Dougherty also performed during this event.

They sang top hits of the past and present with stellar performances on the fiddle, guitar, and drums. The comedy performance from Jarrett Dougherty must be mentioned as well. He gave a hilarious retelling of his version of the Bible and had a little bit of a wardrobe malfunction with his wig. The crowd was in stitches by the time he was finished and left the stage.

The leader of the performance, Melody Hart, has been named three-time Fiddle Player of the Year and reigning Female Vocalist of the Year for the Branson Terry Music Awards. The concert in its whole was voted the Best Limited Engagement Show by The Best of Branson Show Awards. Their brand of performance during this high-energy show filled with classic country music is what keeps people coming back. Because they are all connected off the stage, that connection of family and friendship translates easily into their performances.

Ticket purchases benefited the Ponca City Noon Lions Club, a non-profit organization where volunteers work to improve their communities. Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization. According to their website, they have more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in 200+ countries around the world. Ponca City’s own Lions Club works constantly to help with the betterment of Ponca City.
