The Ponca City Charity Angels are one of two chapters of Ambucs, the other being the Noon Ambucs, in Ponca City. They are a local non-profit organization that promotes “inspiring mobility and independence”. The group is part of a national organization that just celebrated its 100th year. Charity Angels have been in operation for 15 years and have 71 members, while the men’s Noon Ambucs have been around for 96 years.

The organization provides therapeutic Amtrykes for people who can’t ride a traditional bike. They also provide scholarships for people going into a therapy field, and also provide community projects they participate at such as Goblins on Grand, Trunk or Treat, OBI blood drives, Santa’s Cause 2, and the motocross races amongst others.

March is visibility month for Ambucs, and on Wednesday, March 7, Mayor Homer Nicholson presented a city proclamation declaring March as Ambucs National Visibility Month.

Ambucs will be walking down 14th Street from Pizza Hut at 10 am on Saturday, March 25 toward Heather Cannon Honda. Heather Cannon Honda will be making a donation to Ambucs for every test drive on that day from 11 am to 1 pm.
