Mavs’ Softball earns split at NOC Enid

ENID, Oklahoma -- The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs split a pair with rival NOC Enid Saturday afternoon at Failing Field.

The Mavs won the first game 4-3 and dropped the nightcap 12-7.

The Mavs (24-23) are now 12-13 in conference while NOC Enid (11-37) are now 7-19 in conference play.

In Game 1, the Mavs bunched two runs each in the second and fifth innings to build a 4-0 lead over the Jets.

Hallie Durkee hit a two-run home run for the Mavs to extend the lead.

NOC Enid then rallied for one run in the fifth and two in the sixth to cut the Mavs’ lead to 4-3.

Lynsey Ailey then worked around an error to retire the Jets securing a 4-3 win.

Ailey earned the win allowing one earned run on six hits.

In Game 2, the Mavs played catch-up from the start as NOC Enid scored six runs in the first.

The Mavs cut the lead to 6-3 and after the Jets extended the lead to 9-3, the Mavs then cut the lead 9-7 but Enid then scored three runs in the fourth increasing the lead to 12-7.

Meagan Bellar, Karsyn Coleman, and Morgan Fowble homered for the Mavs.

Molly Myers had three hits while Bellar, Ailey and Aubrey Meyers had two hits each.

The Mavs were outhit 13-12.

Sidney Webb was the starter with bullpen help from Myers and Ailey.
