Habitate ReStore moving sale The Habitat ReStore, located at 117 W Central, is having a moving sale as they prepare for their move into their new location.

Right now, there is 50% off everything except Greensheen paint. The store will be moving in the next few weeks and they want to get rid of as much merchandise as possible so they don’t have to move it.

Ponca Habitat is a broadbased Christian organization that has built over 30 homes for families in Ponca. Each family must help build the home with Habitat volunteers and then they must pay for the cost of the home with an interest free mortgage. Costs are held down because of volunteer labor and the no-interest mortgage.

The Restore has been very helpful in providing funds to build these homes. In fact, Habitat ReStore operates on local donations of building materials and furniture so it provides a place for unused items and therefore keeps material out of the city dump while helping others remodel their homes. It has been serving a very good community service for Ponca in a number of ways.

The store hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

On Wednesday the 24th of May 2023, starting early that morning we will be kicking off a JOINT TRAINING exercise with many first responder agencies from our county. This means that throughout the day you could see many different types of emergency vehicles in the area of Ponca Lake, Frisbee Golf course and the Archery Range. There could be patrol cars, firetrucks, ambulances, watercraft, atv’s and even aircraft or various forms. You might hear police radios, simulated gunfire, or maybe even some diversion devises we use. Please don’t be alarmed. It is only training and it is all planned. Unfortunately, this means that traveling in the area of La Cann / Prentice Rd. and Hartford/ Longwood area could prove difficult as we will have many things happening in that area. There will be barricades set up and we ask that you please do not move or go around them.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 580-362-3250 Thank you for understanding, Sheriff Steve Kelley
