PONCA CITY AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE OFFERED APRIL 14 Looking for an opportunity to lower your auto insurance premiums and update yourself on changes in the driving landscape and motoring rules. This course includes the latest related information as well as strategies for driving safely longer. Pioneer Technology Center and AARP is holding a “Smart Driving course at 9 am to 3:30 pm on Friday, April 14, 2023; at 2101 North Ash Street; Ponca City, OK. Enter at North Entrance. The course is open to the public. Feel free to bring a lunch or plan to eat close by.

The cost of the course is $20 for AARP Members (bring your card to course) or $25 for non-AARP members. Bring your Driver’s License, as you will need the number. Participants will receive a participant guidebook as part of the course.

CRIMINAL PROFILER HOSTS SEMINAR AT NOC APRIL 25

Noted criminal profiler and true crime writer Phil Chalmers will host a seminar at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa April 25.

The event, organized by NOC Criminal Justice Instructor Troy Cochran, will be held at the Renfro Center from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. with lunch provided. Lunch will be provided by the NOC Student Organization Criminal Justice Society.

Tickets to the event are $149 each, $40 for NOC students.

Chalmers, who specializes in profiling dangerous people, is the author of the Teen Killer Whisperer and hosts the Where the Bodies are Buried Podcast.

The seminar will include extremely graphic content including images of sex, violence, torture, and death. Attendees must be 18 years and older.

Training topics include causes, warning signs, and triggers of today’s dangerous killers. Also covered are school shooting trends, school safety plans, and many others.

The seminar will go live on Zoom with school shooters and serial killers.

The seminar is designed for law enforcement, school resource officers, dispatchers, counselors, probation officers, social workers, and victim’s advocates.
