Artist Audrey Schmitz, partnered with the Pioneer Woman Museum, offered a Glass and a Glass art class on Sat., April 22. This class, set on Earth Day, was an interactive glass fusing class where adults were able to create their own glass sun catcher.

For the price of $20, participants were able to create their one “Meadow Flower” sun catcher. While they worked, participants learned about the process of fusing glass and enjoyed a complementary drink. There were only 14 spaces available at each session and there were only two sessions held. By the end, only one space was available between both of the sessions because of how quickly they filled up.

“Along with a wide array of colorful art glass, other materials such as fit, wire, dots, millefiori and stringer will be available for use. Additional “Meadow Flower” sun catchers may be made and paid for during the event and there is also an option to create a one-of-a-kind night light as well. Glass and a Glass is for ages 18 and up and no prior experience with glass is required to create original art, have fun and get your sparkle on,” according is what the Pioneer Woman Statue & Museum Facebook page said about the event.

According to them, if there is a great interest in this art class, the same thing can be held this weekend. So, if you are interested your name can be put on a waiting list and depending on how many people sign up, there could be another Glass and a Glass event.
