Ponca City Church will be giving away familysized food boxes on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 701 West Chestnut Avenue, the former location of the old Lincoln Elementary School. There will be a drive-thru location in their main parking lot.

This free grocery giveaway became available through the federal government who has offered a Farm Subsidy as part of the CARES Act to the produce and dairy farms across the nation. This subsidy allows produce and dairy farmers to give away their products for distribution, rather than have them destroy their output because they cannot get it to market due to recent events in the United States.

Ponca City Church has secured a refrigerated big rig container with 600 boxes, each weighing 18-20 lbs.

They are designed to feed a family of 5 or 6 and contain farm fresh produce and dairy products.

Ponca City Church will be distributing these boxes free of charge. Each box is already packed for distribution, along with a choice of one-half gallon or one full gallon of fresh milk.

Those attending can have groceries placed in their vehicle or trunk to minimize direct contact and to maintain social distancing protocols.

The Farm-to-Table initiative, in conjunction with the 180 Disaster Relief Org., would like to inform the public that this food is not expired or redistributed goods. It is directly from the actual producers.
