A fatality collision occurred at approximately 3 am on Saturday, Feb. 3 on Hubbard Road just west of Waverly, and 0.3 miles west of Ponca City.

A 2004 GMC Envoy driven by Hayden Jones, 67, was traveling east on Hubbard Road. The vehicle departed the roadway to the left for an unknown reason. It then struck a guide wire and rolled an unknown amount of times before coming to rest on the driver’s side. The driver was ejected approximately 2 feet.

Jones was pronounced deceased on the scene by Ponca City EMS due to massive injuries.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation, however, the report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) indicated that their was an odor of an alcoholic beverage.
