The City of Ponca City and Phillips 66 are sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event Saturday May 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Phillips66 north parking lot located at Oak and South Avenue.

Your family can generate as much as 100 pounds of hazardous waste each year. Hazardous waste is defined as material that can catch fire, react or explode under certain circumstances, or that is corrosive or toxic.

The public is encouraged to dispose of items such as old oil, antifreeze and paints, solvents, household cleaners and lawn & pool chemicals. You may also bring electronic equipment, including TVs. A medication collection will also be available for prescription & OTC medications. Proper disposal of hazardous waste helps protect our delicate environment and makes our community safer.
