Sat., Aug. 6 at 11 am, Brace Books and More is hosting a story time and book signing by Kenda Henthorn. This children’s author is there to read her new picture book, “Baa, Baa, Tap Sheep,” illustrated by Lauren Gallegos. “Baa, Baa, Tap Sheep” is about a group of sheep who, instead of helping them fall asleep by counting, begin to tap, waltz, tango, and even boogie. Eventually, they danced their energy out and they all fell asleep.

Henthorn is an action junkie and oftentimes her real life adventures are meshed into her books. On her website, she explains it as, “Now I know Aristotle said that life imitates art, but I say art imitates life, at least when it comes to my life and my art.” As a wife of a bold pilot, she harnessed her everyday life into a picture book, or three, about places. She also is a horse lover, her parents starred in a few small scale western movies, and she and her brother began riding horses before they knew how to walk. Because of this, she has been a longtime horse owner and has written a book about a young girl and her horse trying to earn a spot in her parents’ western movie. According to her website, Henthorn says that she can’t wait for books about her other daring adventures.

If you are unable to make the book signing, call Brace Books and More at 580-765- 5173 to reserve a copy. They will have it signed for you and even call you when it is ready for pick-up.
