There are two cats of the week this week, featuring sisters Fireball and Licorice. These two ladies and their other littermates came to Northern Oklahoma Humane Society as kittens and were unfortunately affected by an outbreak of ringworm. After fighting off ringworm as babies, the litter came out with a clean bill of health. A number of the litter were adopted out, but these two are still under the care of NOKHS. Licorice was adopted out as well, but to no fault of her own she was returned. These babies are incredibly sweet, but they are also very shy, so it takes awhile for them to warm up to people. Once they do though, they are very loving. These two ladies have been with the humane society since January 2, and they are looking for their forever homes.

This week’s dog of the week is Walnut. Walnut has been with Northern Oklahoma Humane Society for a few weeks now and he is now ready to find his forever home. This puppy is only 8 month old, but he is already incredibly well behaved. Walnut loves people, children, other dogs, and even cats. While they aren’t exactly sure what Walnut is, the workers at NOKHS are sure that he is some part Shepherd. Regardless, he is incredibly well behaved for a puppy and extremely loving. His foster family had nothing but good things to say about Walnut. Throughout his time with them, Walnut learned basic commands and is even crate trained now. They said they while he loves to play, he is very calm in comparison to their Lab/German Shepherd pup. Walnut would make an excellent addition to any family and he is waiting for someone to choose him.

If you would like more information on these lovely animals, or any other animal at Northern Oklahoma Humane Society, you can visit their website at www.nokhs.com, call at 580-767-8877, or visit the Humane Society at 900 W Prospect Ave.
