East Middle School Student Council makes pillows for Garfield Kindergarten students

The COVID-19 virus has tried to put a stop on some of the service projects East Middle School Student Council does every year. However, it has not stopped them. They have tried to find several service projects they can accomplish. One of these service projects was to make pillows for the kindergarten students at Garfield Elementary. Members started making the homemade pillows in mid-October. The pillows are made of fleece and cotton stuffing. East teacher and Student Council Sponsor Susan Schatz reported, “This group has put a lot of effort into this service project, and they have enjoyed their time making them. We hope the children will enjoy the pillows.”

Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program Stipend Awarded to Two Social Work Majors

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Social Work announces Northwestern-Enid seniors Jamie Metcalf and Heather Wilkinson are the stipend recipients of the Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program (CWPEP) for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Frontier II Windfarm Project

On May 14, 2019, Kay County entered into a road use agreement with Duke Energy to construct its second wind farm in Kay County. Frontier II is a 350-megawatt, 74 turbine windfarm with thirty-six miles of county gravel roads upgraded to meet heavy construction needs. Couple celebrates 60 years

Larry and Lila Logan of Ponca City, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 28th, 2020 with a dinner party at the Rusty Barrel Supper Club with their immediate family present: son Kirby Logan, wife Denise and granddaughter Baylee of Kildare; daughter Michele Logan of Ponca City, their grandson Shane Logan and significant other Kelsey Rowe of Kaw City; and grandson Garett Logan and wife Katie, of Miami, OK.
